The West Fargo Public Library Board of Directors is a governing board that oversees the library's finances, policies, operations, collection, and long-term planning. They also advocate for the library's value to community members, legislators, and stakeholders. The Board is made up of appointed volunteers who are West Fargo residents.
The West Fargo Public Library Board of Directors meets the second Thursday of each month. Their public meetings begin at 5:00 p.m. via Zoom and are streamed on YouTube and westfargond.gov. The Board accepts submissions for public comment until 12 p.m. the day of a Board meeting.

Board members serve a three-year term with an opportunity for a second term possible. The time commitment is roughly four hours per month, and each member must be a resident of West Fargo.
