Library patrons must show a valid library card in order to check out items from the library.
Library cards will be issued to residents of the West Fargo School District (including Horace and Harwood), Fargo, and Moorhead at no charge. Others may obtain borrowing privileges for a nominal fee.Children are invited to obtain their own library cards. Applications (PDF) for children under 14 must be signed by a parent or guardian who assumes full responsibility for any materials used by their children. Both the child and the parent must sign the application in the library. The parent must provide identification and proof of current address.
Application forms (PDF) can be downloaded and printed or pick one up at the Service Desk. All applications must be signed and submitted in person at the Library Service Desk, along with identification and proof of address.Residents in Fargo and Moorhead (as well library card holders in the LARL system) need to show their Fargo Public Library or LARL card along with identification and proof of address.
Please report all lost or stolen cards immediately. You will be responsible for any items checked out on your card unless you have notified the library that it is missing.Replacement cards are available to replace a lost or damaged card, for a $1 fee.
A new card can be issued for address or name changes at no cost. Please keep us informed!
At the time you apply for a card, you can check out 2 items. Afterwards, the limit is 30 items per card. This can include up to 10 DVDs and/or Blu-Rays, and 4 CDs.

Items obtained from another library on interlibrary loan cannot be renewed. Ask at the Service Desk for help with renewals.
